Many Thanks

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude to a few people, without whose assistance, patience, knowledge and support our dreams would not have come true.

Firstly and most importantly, I would like to thank my family and my great friend Harvey Hope, without whose support, encouragement and assistance, none of this would have been possible.

A large thank you goes out to Jocelyne Gagne of Starkeeper Irish Wolfhounds for allowing us the privilege of using her Mac, BISS Can.Am.UKC Ch., AKC G.Ch. Starkeeper McEnroe of Limerick as sire to Sheenan’s 2011 litter of two gorgeous boys in addition to allowing us the privilege of using Fyre, Ch Starkeeper Glenamadda Fyrenze of Griffindor as sire to Heera’s 2013 litter of nine stunning puppies. It is with great pride that we thank Jocelyne for entrusting us with Brooklyn.  Jocelyne has been breeding Wolfhounds for over three decades and has been judging dog shows for numerous years. We greatly appreciate her knowledge, experience, hospitality and tremendous support.

A huge thank you to  Mr. Paul Allard and Mr. Steve Pedro of Freckashpeng Hounds who have not only spent quality time  coaching, supporting and assisting us, both at ring side and at their home in Winchester, Ontario but have assisted with the 2013 Litter. Paul and Steve are always willing to lend us a pair of hands and share their many years of experience. They are both tremendously appreciated.

Another thank you goes out to my friend Dee Laurie-Beaumont and her husband Brian for their wonderful handling of Phoebe in both breed and group.

Thank you to Mr Glenn McLaughlin of Glenn McLaughlin Majestic Kennels for handling Phoebe so wonderfully to numerous Best of Breeds and Group 1st placements.

We would like to thank Ms Kyreen Shorey of Kaldaun Kennels who has owned Irish Wolfhounds for many years. Kyreen’s support to all us newcomers is greatly appreciated. Kyreen owned Briggs’ sire, Ch Aotearoa Tihi Aru and also owned Heera’s dam Ch Aotearoa Aroha Noa .

We would also like to thank Lois and Norm Freedman of Emrys for providing us with not only our beautiful show puppy Sheenan (Ch Aotearoa Emrys Cabaret) but for all the show videos taken in Petawawa Ontario in 2010 not to mention some great pictures.  Lois and Norm co-own Sheenan’s dam, Ch Aotearoa Emrys Mango, and have been breeding and showing Wolfhounds for over 30 years.

Another huge thank you goes out to Lori Coulter (aka M1) who has lovingly accepted to co-own our special boy Selkirk (Kalkinny McShane of Starkeeper) along with Jocelyne and us. Lori, Selkirk and Ren live in Windsor Ontario and we could not have asked for a better show home for him. Not only is Lori very knowledgeable in regards to raising, handling and showing Wolfhounds, but she has been involved in animal rescue for quite a long time.

An extremely sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to Mrs Lani Hopf-King of Laislinn Irish Wolfhounds  for allowing us the privilege of co-owing Brooklyn (Starkeeper Laislinn BroklynAle) with Jocelyne Gagne of Starkeeper Irish Wolfhounds.  Lani owns Brooklyn’s dam Ch Laislinn Long Road to Caoihme CGC CGN.  Both Lani and Jocelyne have entrusted this special little girl to us and we will forever be grateful.

A huge thank you goes out to Dawn & Wayne Schmidt of West Lorne Ontario for opening their home and hearts to Heera and allowing her to retire in the perfect doggy home.

To our handling coach who we have affectionately nicknamed “Teach”, Mrs. Rhoda Ace of Tickitboo Kennels, a great big thank you for your amazing patience. Rhoda was been a breeder and professional handler for over 20 years, and without this knowledgeable woman’s weekly instructions and tremendous coaching abilities, we would never have been able to show and handle our dogs to their full potential.

We would also like to thank Mr. Graeme Burdon and his daughter Emily Burdon for handling Heera so magnificently in the ring resulting in wonderful group placements and Best Puppy in Group awards and her Canadian Championship title.

Not to be outdone, special thanks goes out to Mr. Edgar Rojas for his taking Heera to a Best of Winners, Best of Breed and on to a Group 3rd in Arnprior May 8th 2011 and Phoebe to Group 3rd in Richmond May 2015.

A special thank you goes out to our favourite veterinarian, Dr. Andrew Sparling and the staff of the Osgoode Veterinary Clinic.  We have known Andrew for many years and he continues to amaze us with his professionalism, gentle demeanour and dedication to the care and welfare of all animals. The team at the Osgoode clinic consists of Dr. Colleen Wilson - Dr. Dorothy Kitchen - Dr. Tracy Blundell and Dr. Suzanne Chenard, all of whom are excellent veterinarians to whom we also owe many thanks.

Another thank you must go to Mr. Ray Bernstein of Photos On Stuff for the magnificent head shots of Briggs & Sheenan at the Coniston shows in 2009 and 2010. Never have we seen candid shots done with such amazing results. See Links page for contacting Ray.

Last, but most certainly not least, a huge thank you to Alan Laird for his tremendous support, for the creation of and assistance with this web site, for the numerous hours spent on trouble shooting, communications with our web host and internet provider,  for all the amazing advertising he has done for us and his unwavering help with any and all of our needs and to “Uncle Harvey Hope” for his tremendous support with the troops and shows.
